Graphene Research Institute

Sejong University

Graphene is a monolayer of carbon atoms arranged in a honeycomb lattice. It is very flexible but much stronger than steel. It is a very good conductor of both heat and electricity. It has about ten times higher electron mobility than silicon at room temperature, and is a promising material to replace the traditional semiconductors in fabricating much faster and less power-consuming electronic devices.

Graphene Research Institute at Sejong University was established to take a lead in the research on the growth of high quality graphene and the development of novel graphene devices by promoting collaborative research among the experts in related fields.

The institute is supported by Priority Research Centers Program of the National Research Foundation of Korea(NRF) and by an A-level special research grant of Sejong University.
